Summer went by too quickly. Thanks to all who helped to make this summer a great one for the children! Forest school was incredible and the gardens reaped what was sowed. Our forest school was great! The educators and children spent time in the forest and exploring the neighbourhood and connecting with the community. We are now preparing for the fall program of events. We have new educators and some staying after their summer jobs at Splash! We are saying goodbye to some as our summer employees as they go back to school. We will miss them. One of the summer educators at CC created an awesome graffiti wall with the children! Please have a look.
With the seasons we also change! Some of the children are moving from the preschool centre to the school age centre. We will be embarking on the fall and winter curriculum of exciting events. Here is some other great news! We are opening a school age addition to the Learning Centre in the space in the lower level of Augustine Centre. We are starting the process of undergoing the renovations required for the Splash Urban Learning Centre. This makes 4 sites now. We will be making some changes to accommodate our new expansion and promoting from within. Look forward to hearing about that! We are beginning the month with more celebrations!! Our official grand opening, ribbon cutting ceremony and reception is happening on the date the province has given us of September 14th at 1:00 p.m. All families are welcome to the Splash Early Learning Centre on Pulford Street. This will be a media event and we will be inviting our partners, community leaders, community and donors to help us celebrate the ribbon cutting by the province. Our Elder Ko’ona will be opening the ceremony and we will have a sacred fire for healing and respect for the First People and land on which we gather. We started our journey with a Pipe Ceremony to begin construction and now here we are! CC and EC are helping by making bannock and tobacco ties. Here’s to a wonderful fall with all the changes it brings!
