Lesley Massey

Lesley has been in the field of Early Learning and Child Care in many capacities since 1976.  She graduated with a diploma from Red River College in Early Learning and Child Care, from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in Developmental Studies and from University of Manitoba with a certificate in Management.  She has been the Executive Director of S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since 1995. Since she has been Director she has represented Splash on many committees and coalitions such as; Anti Gang Collation, Parent Child Coalition, Manitoba Child Care Association and The Regulatory Review Committee of the Government. She has been instrumental in making change happen. She has been asked and has joined many committees to improve the lives of children. She volunteered to assist and empower many organizations in the Point Douglas area.  In 2004 she received “The Director of the Year” award. 

Kayla Mauricio

Kayla is an Early Childhood Educator II and Forest School Practitioner. She has worked in the child care field for over 14 years and is passionate about getting children outside and connecting to their natural environment. Kayla is a volunteer on the Manitoba Nature Summit Board of Directors as well as the Manitoba Child Care Association’s conference committee. In her free time, Kayla loves hiking, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.

Michelle Droux

Michelle has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2001.  She graduated with Honors in 2009 with her ECE II Diploma from Red River College.  She started working for Splash Child Enrichment Centre in 2010 as a group leader for the Eagle Group.  In 2016, she transferred to the office to become a part of the Management Team.  She is now the Administrative Assistant for both Splash Child Enrichment Centre and S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. Michelle loves travelling to tropical places, listening to music and spending time outdoors on her deck with her dog and family.  She believes in quality care for all children and that children learn best through play. 

Carol-Anne Steinhoff

Splash Early Learning Centre

Carol-Anne came to the field of child care in 2013 with a background in worker cooperatives and community organizing. Working collaboratively with others is still a very big part of her life but with time, the focus has shifted from food justice and participatory economics to families and education. Her practice as a infant/toddler caregiver and trainer has been most influenced by the RIE and Pikler approaches, having completed the foundation training and numerous intensives in the U.S. and Europe.  She loves getting to spend those first few years with children and their families, so much so that she became a birth doula in 2018.  She holds a B.A in Developmental Studies from the U of W where she occasionally works as a teaching assistant in the psychology department. 
Carol-Anne enjoys reading, spending lots of time outside, traveling and taking various classes.   

Aileen McKendry-Lavallee

Aileen has been working in childcare since 2005. As a early childhood educator, she has learned that as long as your mind is open, the children will continuously be the ones teaching you! And she has learnt so much over the years! Aileen especially loves sharing her passion for cooking and art with the children and encouraging their own passions and inspiring their imaginations. At home, she and her husband have two children who are amazing and perfectly mischievous! Her journey as a mother has taught her so much, and it has made her a stronger educator.

Areanna Carter

Areanna is a CCA. Some of her favourite hobbies include: being outside at the lake and camping with her friends and family. She enjoys driving around with her friends and having her dog beside her. She also enjoys spending time with her family, and taking her dog Mya to the park as well as playing competitive sports (ringette and softball). She has been playing both sports for 15 years! She graduated from Technical Vocational (Tec Voc) High School where she took the childcare program that is offered there. She has always enjoyed working with children and watching them grow and getting to know them. She looks forward to getting to know your children and getting to know the parents as well.

Charity Erhardt

Charity Erhardt has been at Splash Child Enrichment Centre since June 2019. Charity has a bachelor’s degree from the university of Manitoba in Family Social Sciences. Charity is often seen using her sewing skills to inspire imagination in the children. Charity is also very passionate about literacy and is always will to read to any child. Charity is always very dedicated to help create a safe and engaging environment for all the children.

Janel’s love for childcare started at an early age, growing up in a home where her mom ran a daycare. Janel has been working in the childcare profession for over 15 years and she recently graduated with the ECE level III. She is a proud momma of one little and she is excited to join a team in the community of North End. She believes all children have the right to quality childcare and education. Janel is honoured to be a part of that journey and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Matthew is a Child Care Assistant (CCA). He is a very chill/relaxed individual. He tries not to rush things, he takes his time. Matthew enjoys being outside in the fresh air and he likes going out for walks. On his free time, he likes playing video games and composing his own music.

Michelle Fields

Michelle has been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2016, and as of 2020 has been a student in Red River College’s ECE II Workplace Program. She will graduate as an ECE II in June, 2022. Michelle has laid her roots down in infant/toddler care, and is strongly guided through her work by the principles of the RIE and Pikler, (neuroscience/attachment based) approaches. Michelle has attended formal Pikler intensives in Los Angeles California and looks forward to pursuing these studies, as well as a Forest School Practitioner title following her graduation. When not working or fulfilling school responsibilities, Michelle enjoys adventuring outdoors – whatever the weather – with her son whom she welcomed in 2019.

Taylor started working at Splash Child Enrichment Centre in 2015. She has since moved on to S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. and continues to love every minute of it.

Rosel has been in child care field since 2016 and graduated from the Early Childhood Education Full-Time Program at Red River College in 2018. She cherishes building valuable relationships with children, families, and the community, and using the environment to spark children’s sense of wonder and creativity. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places, crafting and building, escape rooms, and spending time with family and friends.

Veronica has been working in childcare since August 2019. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, making art, and playing video games. Veronica is very passionate about early childhood education, and hopes to provide children with some happy lifelong memories.

Tara Richliwski

Tara has worked at S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since October 1996, and has been in the child care field since 1991 working in both preschool and school age centres. Tara has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg majoring in Psychology and Developmental Studies. Tara’s interests include the artistic side; such as gardening, cooking, listening to music, or seeing live shows. Tara enjoys being in the outdoors, so she likes to swim during the summer, or just chill out with her dog in the back yard. Tara has come to develop many relationships over the years with the children and their families, coworkers, and community mentors and is very thankful to have and continue to have developed those relationships.

Jean graduated from Red River College as an ECE 2 in 1996. She brings collective experiences from working with children with all abilities ranging from infants to school age. Jean incorporates emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia inspired approach and Circle of Security in her day to day interactions. She is a lifelong learner who is continuously learning from others and workshop courses and placing those skills into practice while sharing with others. Jean has worked towards being a collective leader who believes in the value of creating connections and positive relationships with our families, educators and the community. She encourages others to share their experiences and knowledge to create an inclusive and creative environment. On her free time, Jean enjoys spending time with her family.  They enjoy taking road trips and watching movies.  Jean has also been learning about plants and growing a few vegetables at home.

Andrea Nguyen

Andrea graduated with Business Administration-Accounting diploma with Honours from Red River College in 2020. She has been working with Splash since March 2020 as a bookkeeper. Andrea is very dedicated to her job as she has passion for working with numbers and logical things like Mathematics. Andrea is responsible for payroll, financial statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable of the business operation. She hopes to contribute more to the development of Splash and to build good relationships with colleagues and children. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and learning to play the piano.

Dj Gauthier

Dj has been working with Splash since 2009. They were originally hired for Splash Child Enrichment Centre and after 2 years moved over to S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc and has been there since then. Dj brings a welcoming nature to the Splash family. They are a proud Non-Binary person and always encourages the children to learn about accepting and embracing other people for who they are. Dj lives close to both centres and always crosses paths with children and families in the neighborhood, always greeting them with a warm and friendly “Hello”. Dj has a background in computers and electronics as well as they are very crafty and resourceful, which helps the children when they want to come up with new ideas for crafts and games. Dj is a very nature based person. They find being in nature a very calming and liberating experience and have taken the time to help the children understand the quietness and beauty of what nature has to offer. Dj is always learning new things and taking the time to show the children, some of those are: New games, Embroidery, Art work, and the like. Dj enjoys the time they have with the children and helping them to experience and try new things and a safe and fun environment.

Angelyn Hernandez

Angelyn Hernandez has worked in both centres. She is a proud mom of a smart little man. She joined the childcare field because she has always been wanted to be a teacher from a young age. She loves to cook and bake on her free time. She also enjoys scrap booking and art. She loves singing with her son and to the children. Working with the children has taught her many things. Seeing the children learn new things and grow is her passion. Witnessing them exploring unfamiliar things and solve their problems has always mesmerized her in many ways. Working with the children taught her to understand and embrace her patience. She is always looking forward for a new challenge and adventure with the children.

Gavin Beardy

Gavin is from Grand Rapids, MB but grew up here in Winnipeg.
They went to UCN (University College of the North) and studied Early Childhood Education in The Pas, MB (2019-2021). Gavin is the oldest of 9 children. They’ve worked for Cree Nation Child & Family Caring Agency since they were 18 years old.

Jaimie Emberhawk

Jaimie discovered the Splash team while she was in college completing her Early Childhood Education diploma program. The Forest School program and the community involvement of the centre highlighted what she considered foundational to her own teaching style. Jaimie has been a part of the SPLASH family since the summer of 2018. Her interests in Emergent Curriculum and Child-led Discovery made Splash an ideal place to create meaningful connections with families and the surrounding community. Jaimie’s experiences as a life-long volunteer with the Winnipeg Folk Festival have provided her with the opportunity to develop a deep appreciation for the power of the people to create beauty and connection regardless of geographic or cultural differences. She brings this appreciation of diversity into the classroom through music, storytelling and art. She encourages the children to explore the world around them with enthusiasm and an open heart – highlighting the ways we are all connected with each other and the planet we all call “Home.”

Miyeon In has graduated from a university in Korea, was an ECE II teacher for 8 years for children aged 3-4 years old, and a supervisor. She came to Winnipeg because she liked Winnipeg’s winter and snow, and it’s been two years since she came. When she has free time, she likes to travel around Manitoba with her friends and her hobby is to take pictures in the beautiful city of Winnipeg and to play the piano with children’s singing and dancing.

Stacey is a mother to three amazing girls Alyssa, Ava, and Abigail. She started working as a CCA in 2013. In 2019, she graduated from the workplace program as an ECE II. Her love for working with children made her want to pursue further education so she could provide the best possible care and education. Childcare is rewarding as we get to see the children grow and thrive in nurturing environments we create for them. She looks forward to meeting all the new families of these children and supporting their growth and development.

Tiffany Swift

Tiffany Swift has been working with children in a professional capacity for 6 years. Having worked with children from infancy to school age, she has a full appreciation for the unique journey that each child is on. Tiffany absolutely adores children and truly sees the limitless potential in each child she has the pleasure of working with.
Tiffany is currently in school to obtain her Early Childhood Education level II Classification. She joined the S.P.L.A.S.H team in March 2022 and is very excited for her future here.
In her free time, Tiffany enjoys helping out in the community, drawing and spending time with her family and friends. She is looking forward to the opportunity to work with your family!

Zerlina Mink

Zerlina has been in the childcare field since 2001. She is an ECE II and received her training at RRC. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, reading, biking and going for long walks and exploring nature. She enjoys implementing art activities with the children, she believes it allows them to be independent and able to express themselves freely. She is a risk taker and not afraid of messy play. She believes children learn best when they have a safe environment where they can take risks and learn through meaningful play. She looks forward to working with your families and building relationships.
