Tara Richliwski

Tara has worked at S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since October 1996, and has been in the child care field since 1991 working in both preschool and school age centres. Tara has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg majoring in Psychology and Developmental Studies. Tara’s interests include the artistic side; such as gardening, cooking, listening to music, or seeing live shows. Tara enjoys being in the outdoors, so she likes to swim during the summer, or just chill out with her dog in the back yard. Tara has come to develop many relationships over the years with the children and their families, coworkers, and community mentors and is very thankful to have and continue to have developed those relationships.  

Jillian Jennings

Jillian Jennings is an ECE II. She received her ECE II at Red River College. Jillian has worked in the child-care field since 2009 and has been a part of Splash since 2019. She started out as a floor staff in the Eagle group making relationships with the families and her coworkers. She is currently the site supervisor at Splash Child Enrichment Centre. Jillian is knowledgeable with the following: Inclusion, Circle of Security, Risky Play, Emergent Curriculum. Jillian has successfully licensed two School Age centres programs, bridging the gap between facility and community. Jillian has been asked to lend a hand in different child-care centre’s to give a different perspective on inclusive environments to enhance inclusion support/ environments. Jillian’s passion and love for the field inspire’s children to, have the opportunity to learn and discover through play as that is the highest form of research.

Lesley Massey

Lesley has been in the field of Early Learning and Child Care in many capacities since 1976.  She graduated with a diploma from Red River College in Early Learning and Child Care, from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in Developmental Studies and from University of Manitoba with a certificate in Management.  She has been the Executive Director of S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since 1995. Since she has been Director she has represented Splash on many committees and coalitions such as; Anti Gang Collation, Parent Child Coalition, Manitoba Child Care Association and The Regulatory Review Committee of the Government. She has been instrumental in making change happen. She has been asked and has joined many committees to improve the lives of children. She volunteered to assist and empower many organizations in the Point Douglas area.  In 2004 she received “The Director of the Year” award. 

Michelle Droux

Michelle has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2001.  She graduated with Honors in 2009 with her ECE II Diploma from Red River College.  She started working for Splash Child Enrichment Centre in 2010 as a group leader for the Eagle Group.  In 2016, she transferred to the office to become a part of the Management Team.  She is now the Administrative Assistant for both Splash Child Enrichment Centre and S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. Michelle loves travelling to tropical places, listening to music and spending time outdoors on her deck with her dog and family.  She believes in quality care for all children and that children learn best through play. 

Amanda Ploski

Amanda is a ECE II and a trained Forest School Practitioner. Amanda runs Splash’s summer forest school program, and nature programs throughout the year. Amanda has been with Splash since 2016. Amanda works closely with staff members, and families to create a inclusive environment for all children. Amanda assists Site supervisors with programming for children with additional support needs. As well as writing grants, and creating fundraisers to ensure that Splash’s children have many learning, and enjoyable experiences throughout the year

Angelyn Hernandez

Angelyn Hernandez has worked in both centre’s. She is a proud mom of a smart little man. She joined the childcare field because she has always been wanted to be a teacher from a young age. She loves to cook and bake on her free time. She also enjoys scrap booking and art. She loves singing with her son and to the children. Working with the children has taught her many things. Seeing the children learn new things and grow is her passion. Witnessing them exploring unfamiliar things and solve their problems has always mesmerized her in many ways. Working with the children taught her to understand and embrace her patience. She is always looking forward for a new challenge and adventure with the children. 

Andrea Nguyen

Andrea graduated with Business Administration-Accounting diploma with honours from Red River College in 2020. She has been working with Splash from March 2020 as a bookkeeper. Because Andrea has passion for working with numbers and logical things such as Mathematics, she is very dedicated to her job. Andrea is responsible for the payroll, financial statements, all payments, and receipts of the business operation. She hopes to contribute more to the development of the Splash team and develop good relationships with colleagues and children. In her free time, she usually enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and learning to play the piano.

Dj Gauthier

Dj has been working with Splash since 2009. They were originally hired for Splash Child Enrichment Centre and after 2 years moved over to S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc and has been there since then. Dj brings a welcoming nature to the Splash family. They are a proud Non-Binary person and always encourages the children to learn about accepting and embracing other people for who they are. Dj lives close to both centres and always crosses paths with children and families in the neighborhood, always greeting them with a warm and friendly “Hello”. Dj has a background in computers and electronics as well as they are very crafty and resourceful, which helps the children when they want to come up with new ideas for crafts and games. Dj is a very nature based person. They find being in nature a very calming and liberating experience and have taken the time to help the children understand the quietness and beauty of what nature has to offer. Dj is always learning new things and taking the time to show the children, some of those are: New games, Embroidery, Art work, and the like. Dj enjoys the time they have with the children and helping them to experience and try new things and a safe and fun environment.

Aislyn Carlson

Aislyn has been working at S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since May 2019. She currently teaches the Indigenous Curriculum at her site. A little bit of personal information about herself: she dances jingle dress (traditional First Nation powwow dance), can speak and understand some of her native language (Woodland Cree) but is still learning. She is learning more about her traditional roots and sacred teachings. She is also half Swedish and Irish. She likes to read and watch movies/t.v. series in her spare time. Especially foreign movies so she can learn different languages and cultures. She also likes to hangout with her best friends and relax.

Summer Gough

Summer has been a part of Splash since February 2020. She is a Child Care Assistant, as well as our website designer. Summer started volunteering with children at the age of 15, and had a position as a outdoor educational instructor at the age of 18. Not long after, Summer got a job as a Child Care Assistant at Freight House. Summer started learning how to edit and design websites, as well as how to edit and create videos using Adobe products at the age of 16, and she enjoys all of the work she does at Splash!

Taylor is a big kid at heart. She has been working in Childcare since 2000, and graduated from Red River College in 2012 with her ECE II diploma. Taylor started working at Splash Child Enrichment Centre in 2015. She has since moved on to S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. and continues to love every minute of it.

April is a single mom to 2 special needs boys and has worked with children in many different aspects since 2000. After completing her CCA course at R.B Russell, she joined the Splash family in July 2019 and loves working in such an amazing environment with great children, staff and management. April loves to do crafts, learn new things and be creative.

Chanda Bird

Chanda has been working with Splash since August 2020. She has been volunteering with children since 2012. She has volunteered at children’s camps, a lighthouse program and other activities around the community. Chandra is eager to learn new things each day about the child care field. Chanda enjoys horror movies, baking, cleaning, and naps. Chanda is Indigenous and Filipino. She loves learning new things about both sides of her culture.

Jerzy Stranger

Jerzy started working for Splash in the summer of 2020. Jerzy is a proud indigenous woman who strives to teach the children about the beautiful culture. She teaches the children how to respect Mother Earth and why it is important to do so. Jerzy enjoys guiding the children to enhance their ability to do arts and crafts. Jerzy does not only aim for the children’s successes in being thy owns best selves, she is also committed to keeping Splash a safe and delightful place for all children. Jerzy plans to continue working in childcare as her career path as she enjoys working with children!

Mary Ann Pallarca

In 1993, Mary Ann finished her Bachelor Of Science degree in Nursing back in the Philippines. She became a registered Nurse in 1994 and began work as a private Nurse and later worked at a hospital. Mary Ann came to Canada as an immigrant in 2011. She started working at Splash Child Enrichment Centre in September 2011 and has been there since. She has worked with the infant, preschool and school age at SPLASH.  Mary Ann does inventory and menu planning at EC. She is also the opening staff for EC and enjoys her job of welcoming all parents and staff in the morning.

Joy-Anne Whiteside

Joy (ECE III) came to Splash in 2019 with over 20 years of being in the child care field.  She enjoys being outdoors with the children and finding new and exciting activities for the them.  She has worked with infant all the way to school age and enjoys being with all.  Joy graduated from Red River Community college in 2004 with her Studies in Special Needs Child Care Certificate, Assiniboine Community College in 2007 with her ECE II Diploma and again in 2011 with her Early Childhood Program Management Advanced Diploma.  She also completed in 2020 through Red River College her Certificate of Achievement for Introduction to the Abecedarian Approach. She enjoys participating in workshops to keep up to date on new ideas and thoughts in the field as a variety of other courses and workshops that  interest her in subjects that she would like to know more about.

Jaimie Emberhawk

Jaimie discovered the Splash team while she was in college completing her Early Childhood Education diploma program. The Forest School program and the community involvement of the centre highlighted what she considered foundational to her own teaching style. Jaimie has been a part of the SPLASH family since the summer of 2018. Her interests in Emergent Curriculum and Child-led Discovery made Splash an ideal place to create meaningful connections with families and the surrounding community. Jaimie’s experiences as a life-long volunteer with the Winnipeg Folk Festival have provided her with the opportunity to develop a deep appreciation for the power of the people to create beauty and connection regardless of geographic or cultural differences. She brings this appreciation of diversity into the classroom through music, storytelling and art. She encourages the children to explore the world around them with enthusiasm and an open heart – highlighting the ways we are all connected with each other and the planet we all call “Home.”

Charity Erhardt has been at Splash Child Enrichment Centre since June 2019. Charity has a bachelor’s degree from the university of Manitoba in Family Social Sciences. Charity is often seen using her sewing skills to inspire imagination in the children. Charity is also very passionate about literacy and is always will to read to any child. Charity is always very dedicated to help create a safe and engaging environment for all the children.

Gilbert Gonio

Gilbert Gonio is an ECE III. He got his ECE III (Specialization in child with special needs) at Red River College. Gilbert used to be a classroom teacher back in the Philippines, an Inclusion leader and has worked with Infants and toddlers, preschool and school age programs here in Canada. Gilbert has worked in the child-care field since 2007 and has been working at Splash since 2019. Gilbert is knowledgeable with the following: Circle of Security, Reggio Emilia Approach, RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) philosophy, and Thinking Lens (Deb Curtis). Gilbert had been invited numerous times to talk about the Infant program and had been on the Early Childhood Education Advisory Committee (2019) at Red River College. Gilbert had an exemplary award at another centre in 2012 for his hard work, exceeding his job responsibilities and being a great team player. Gilbert’s hard work helps and inspires children to focus on their efforts and determination.
