Lesley Massey

Lesley has been in the field of Early Learning and Child Care in many capacities since 1976.  She graduated with a diploma from Red River College in Early Learning and Child Care, from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in Developmental Studies and from University of Manitoba with a certificate in Management.  She has been the Executive Director of S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since 1995. Since she has been Director she has represented Splash on many committees and coalitions such as; Anti Gang Collation, Parent Child Coalition, Manitoba Child Care Association and The Regulatory Review Committee of the Government. She has been instrumental in making change happen. She has been asked and has joined many committees to improve the lives of children. She volunteered to assist and empower many organizations in the Point Douglas area.  In 2004 she received “The Director of the Year” award. 

Tara Richliwski

Tara has worked at S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since October 1996, and has been in the child care field since 1991 working in both preschool and school age centres. Tara has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg majoring in Psychology and Developmental Studies. Tara’s interests include the artistic side; such as gardening, cooking, listening to music, or seeing live shows. Tara enjoys being in the outdoors, so she likes to swim during the summer, or just chill out with her dog in the back yard. Tara has come to develop many relationships over the years with the children and their families, coworkers, and community mentors and is very thankful to have and continue to have developed those relationships.

Michelle Droux

Michelle has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2001.  She graduated with Honors in 2009 with her ECE II Diploma from Red River College.  She started working for Splash Child Enrichment Centre in 2010 as a group leader for the Eagle Group.  In 2016, she transferred to the office to become a part of the Management Team.  She is now the Administrative Assistant for both Splash Child Enrichment Centre and S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. Michelle loves travelling to tropical places, listening to music and spending time outdoors on her deck with her dog and family.  She believes in quality care for all children and that children learn best through play. 

Amanda Ploski

Amanda is a ECE II and a trained Forest School Practitioner. Amanda runs Splash’s summer forest school program, and nature programs throughout the year. Amanda has been with Splash since 2016. Amanda works closely with staff members, and families to create a inclusive environment for all children. Amanda assists Site supervisors with programming for children with additional support needs. As well as writing grants, and creating fundraisers to ensure that Splash’s children have many learning, and enjoyable experiences throughout the year.

Adrianna McKay

Adrianna is a CCA. She is family oriented and comes from a big family. Family means everything to her. She has been babysitting since she was very young. Caring for children comes naturally for her. Adrianna enjoy what she does! She treats the children as if they are her own. She knows trust, consistency, and connection is real big with children and it is very important. Adrianna is so happy that she is able to be apart of an awesome team and child’s development!

Aislyn Carlson

Aislyn has been working at S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. since May 2019. She currently teaches the Indigenous Curriculum at her site. A little bit of personal information about herself: she dances jingle dress (traditional First Nation powwow dance), can speak and understand some of her native language (Woodland Cree) but is still learning. She is learning more about her traditional roots and sacred teachings. She is also half Swedish and Irish. She likes to read and watch movies/t.v. series in her spare time. Especially foreign movies so she can learn different languages and cultures. She also likes to hangout with her best friends and relax.

April is a single mom to 2 special needs boys and has worked with children in many different aspects since 2000. After completing her CCA course at R.B Russell, she joined the Splash family in July 2019 and loves working in such an amazing environment with great children, staff and management. April loves to do crafts, learn new things and be creative.

Charity Erhardt

Charity Erhardt has been at Splash Child Enrichment Centre since June 2019. Charity has a bachelor’s degree from the university of Manitoba in Family Social Sciences. Charity is often seen using her sewing skills to inspire imagination in the children. Charity is also very passionate about literacy and is always will to read to any child. Charity is always very dedicated to help create a safe and engaging environment for all the children.

Hannah Arras

Hannah Arras is an ECE II. She holds her BSc in Child Studies and her associate degree is with Checchetti Canada. I love being outdoors, music, reading, and dance. She teaches dance in the evenings and is always learning new things. She is passionate about providing quality care to children by ensuring that children have a safe and nurturing environment that fosters growth, love and community. Hannah feels strongly that each child is seen , heard and knows that they are loved. 

Javaan Frey-Sam

Javaan Frey-Sam is a CCA and a very motivated individual. She has previous experience working within retail and child care, and these experiences have taught her the importance of patience, enthusiasm and diligence. Javaan enjoys staying  creative and active through photography, small sewing projects, working out at home and taking my dog to the dog park. She believes that an innovative life style is a healthy life style. She is a social butterfly and considers herself to be a little silly! She enjoys lighting up a room with humour and high spirits. Javaan is excited to be working at SPLASH and plans to bring her positive energy and passion to work with her every day! 

Jerzy Stranger

Jerzy started working for Splash in the summer of 2020. Jerzy is a proud indigenous woman who strives to teach the children about the beautiful culture. She teaches the children how to respect Mother Earth and why it is important to do so. Jerzy enjoys guiding the children to enhance their ability to do arts and crafts. Jerzy does not only aim for the children’s successes in being thy owns best selves, she is also committed to keeping Splash a safe and delightful place for all children. Jerzy plans to continue working in childcare as her career path as she enjoys working with children!

Mary Ann Pallarca

In 1993, Mary Ann finished her Bachelor Of Science degree in Nursing back in the Philippines. She became a registered Nurse in 1994 and began work as a private Nurse and later worked at a hospital. Mary Ann came to Canada as an immigrant in 2011. She started working at Splash Child Enrichment Centre in September 2011 and has been there since. She has worked with the infant, preschool and school age at SPLASH.  Mary Ann does inventory and menu planning at EC. She is also the opening staff for EC and enjoys her job of welcoming all parents and staff in the morning.

Tana Lillie

Tana is a proud Metis! She has been mentoring, guiding and teaching children for over 20 years! She is passionate about helping our children learn about the world we live in, the First Nations culture, and how they can make a difference, by being kind and compassionate to each other. 

Corine Anderson

Corine Anderson is an ECE III and a Forest School Practitioner. She has previously worked for SPLASH for just short of 14 years and is happy to be back again as Assistant Director. She is also the current Co-Chair and founding member of the Manitoba Nature Summit and a member of the Manitoba Child Care Association’s Public Policy and Professionalism Committee.  When she’s not at work you can find her in the garden or singing around a campfire. 

Jean dela Cruz

Jean graduated from Red River College as an ECE 2 in 1996. She brings collective experiences from working with children with all abilities ranging from infants to school age. Jean incorporates emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia inspired approach and Circle of Security in her day to day interactions. She is a lifelong learner who is continuously learning from others and workshop courses and placing those skills into practice while sharing with others. Jean has worked towards being a collective leader who believes in the value of creating connections and positive relationships with our families, educators and the community. She encourages others to share their experiences and knowledge to create an inclusive and creative environment. On her free time, Jean enjoys spending time with her family.  They enjoy taking road trips and watching movies.  Jean has also been learning about plants and growing a few vegetables at home.

Andrea Nguyen

Andrea graduated with Business Administration-Accounting diploma with honours from Red River College in 2020. She has been working with Splash since March 2020 as a bookkeeper. Andrea is very dedicated to her job as she has passion for working with numbers and logical things like Mathematics. Andrea is responsible for payroll, financial statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable of the business operation. She hopes to contribute more to the development of the Splash team and to develop good relationships with colleagues and children. In her free time, she usually enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and learning to play the piano.

Dj Gauthier

Dj has been working with Splash since 2009. They were originally hired for Splash Child Enrichment Centre and after 2 years moved over to S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc and has been there since then. Dj brings a welcoming nature to the Splash family. They are a proud Non-Binary person and always encourages the children to learn about accepting and embracing other people for who they are. Dj lives close to both centres and always crosses paths with children and families in the neighborhood, always greeting them with a warm and friendly “Hello”. Dj has a background in computers and electronics as well as they are very crafty and resourceful, which helps the children when they want to come up with new ideas for crafts and games. Dj is a very nature based person. They find being in nature a very calming and liberating experience and have taken the time to help the children understand the quietness and beauty of what nature has to offer. Dj is always learning new things and taking the time to show the children, some of those are: New games, Embroidery, Art work, and the like. Dj enjoys the time they have with the children and helping them to experience and try new things and a safe and fun environment.

 

Angelyn Hernandez

Angelyn Hernandez has worked in both centre’s. She is a proud mom of a smart little man. She joined the childcare field because she has always been wanted to be a teacher from a young age. She loves to cook and bake on her free time. She also enjoys scrap booking and art. She loves singing with her son and to the children. Working with the children has taught her many things. Seeing the children learn new things and grow is her passion. Witnessing them exploring unfamiliar things and solve their problems has always mesmerized her in many ways. Working with the children taught her to understand and embrace her patience. She is always looking forward for a new challenge and adventure with the children. 

Hailey Gerard

Hailey has been working with children since she was 15 years old! She enjoys the always moving environment that child care brings and continues doing her best to adapt and overcome all challenges that it may bring. Achieving an equal and fun outcome is always her main priority. Hailey is on her journey to completing and obtaining her Education degree from the University of Winnipeg. She hopes to have a classroom of her own in able to teach and be around children for the rest of her career! Hailey enjoys working at SPLASH because of the tight knight family feel that it brings, ranging from children and staff she feels fortunate to find a workplace that offers a warm welcome to all. Hailey is a Child Care Assistant and interacts as well as teaches the children throughout their days. She offers Indigenous curriculum to the children as well as overall care.

Jaimie Emberhawk

Jaimie discovered the Splash team while she was in college completing her Early Childhood Education diploma program. The Forest School program and the community involvement of the centre highlighted what she considered foundational to her own teaching style. Jaimie has been a part of the SPLASH family since the summer of 2018. Her interests in Emergent Curriculum and Child-led Discovery made Splash an ideal place to create meaningful connections with families and the surrounding community. Jaimie’s experiences as a life-long volunteer with the Winnipeg Folk Festival have provided her with the opportunity to develop a deep appreciation for the power of the people to create beauty and connection regardless of geographic or cultural differences. She brings this appreciation of diversity into the classroom through music, storytelling and art. She encourages the children to explore the world around them with enthusiasm and an open heart – highlighting the ways we are all connected with each other and the planet we all call “Home.”

Janel Wotton

Janel’s love for childcare started at an early age, growing up in a home where her mom ran a daycare. Janel has been working in the childcare profession for over 15 years and she recently graduated with the ECE level III. She is a proud momma of one little and she is excited to join a team in the community of North End. She believes all children have the right to quality childcare and education. Janel is honoured to be a part of that journey and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Laura Selkirk

Laura has been a CCA at  Splash Enrichment Centre since November/2020 and has already built a lot of great relationships with the children. She has been working with children for many years, with a break in between. She is very happy to be back in the childcare field working with preschoolers.  Laura enjoys getting involved in the children’s play and teaching the children through art & play. She believes in positive reinforcement as a way to avoid as much negative behaviours as possible throughout the days. She also enjoys reading and finding ways to incorporate new ideas into our centre.

Rose-Marie Daley

Rose-Marie is an ECE II and a graduate of the Red River College. She also holds certifications in Sterilization and Sanitation; Health Care Aide; and Practical Nursing. Rose-Marie has had 8 years of extensive experience working with infants and toddlers. She’s knowledgeable of the Forrest School approach; and, has had exposure to the Abecedarian approach, having previously worked at SPLASH Child Enrichment Centre during her practicum as an ECE II in training.
Rose-Marie also has, 5 years of experience as a licensed foster parent, 8 years as a respite care provider, and, 7 years in nursing as a licensed practical nurse.
Her core values and beliefs are that: children are our future and as such, must be nurtured, allowed to feel safe and secure in their environment; that each child is an individual with his or her own interests, skills and abilities; and, children require love, care, and attention to allow them to thrive socially, physically
and emotionally. Rose-Marie also enjoys travelling, cooking, singing and playing
the keyboard.

Taylor Spiritchild

Taylor is a big kid at heart. She has been working in Childcare since 2000, and graduated from Red River College in 2012 with her ECE II diploma. Taylor started working at Splash Child Enrichment Centre in 2015. She has since moved on to S.P.L.A.S.H. Child Care Inc. and continues to love every minute of it.

Veronica Burke

Veronica has been working in childcare since August 2019. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, making art, and playing video games. Veronica is very passionate about early childhood education, and hopes to provide children with some happy lifelong memories.
