Barbara Lopez

My name is Barbara, I joined Splash in October 2022. I started as a Child Care Assistant, I am passionate about the work with children. In 2018, I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program. What I love the most about working with children is that I get to be creative (lots of messy art and play), and spend lots of time outdoors. In my free time I like going for walks with my family and dog. I have played soccer since I was 5, when I was younger I played premier soccer in Canada. I also enjoy traveling. I went to Romania in 2012 to learn about the Bucharest Early Intervention Project.
Betsy Fonseca
Child Care Assistant
Betsy joined Splash in 2023. She has been in the childcare field since 2007 as a volunteer and then later on as a childcare assistant working primarily with elementary and preschool children. She’s passionate about encouraging children to creatively engage in their talents and learn more about both the local & global communities around them. In the future, she has plans to pursue her ECE diploma. In her spare time, she enjoys nothing more than reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Caitlin Emerson
Child Care Assistant
Caitlin joined Splash in 2023. She is currently studying Criminal Justice and the University of Winnipeg with the goal of making it into Law School. Her interests include: Playing the violin, spending time with her friends and family, and going to her cottage in Gimli. She loves working with children and wants to bring out the best in everyone.
Catherine Vechina
Early Childhood Educator II
Catherine joined SPLASH in 2022. She has been working as an ECE II since 2006, primarily with Infants and Toddlers. Catherine is an advocate for risky play, loose parts and beautiful environments. She believes infants and toddlers deserve freedom to explore and make choices so they can develop confidently into the people they are meant to be. She co-chairs the Infant Toddler Networking Group of Manitoba and meets with other passionate educators from around the province. In her free time she likes to read or tend to her garden.
Charity Erhardt
Early Childhood Educator in training
Charity Erhardt has been at Splash Child Enrichment Centre since June 2019. Charity has a bachelor’s degree from the university of Manitoba in Family Social Sciences. Charity is often seen using her sewing skills to inspire imagination in the children. Charity is also very passionate about literacy and is always will to read to any child. Charity is always very dedicated to help create a safe and engaging environment for all the children.
Elly Keshavarz
Child Care Assistant
I am Elly, a certified Child Care Assistant with one year experience in childcare. I have joined the lovely team of Splash on August 2022. I love spending time with children and I can easily get to their level. I believe when it comes to playing with children, I am creative and energetic and I usually come up with fun activities. On my free time, I like to exercise, watch movies, and spend time with my friends.
Eve Lapanov
Child Care Assistant
Eve has worked in childcare since 2014 as a child care assistant. Eve is passionate about getting children outside and building relationships with children and families. Eve is also a professional photographer and loves capturing moments for her clients and landscape photography. In her free time, Eve enjoys spending time with her family exploring outside and travelling.

Hello! My name is Fjolla, I am 18 years old and I am new here at Splash Early Learning Centre. I started working in March 2023 and I am currently enrolled and studying at the University of Saint-Boniface. I am in the faculty of sciences and leaning towards becoming a psychologist or teacher. My interests include listening to music, tutoring/helping kids learn and spending time with family. My goals for Splash are building teamwork and proper leadership with the other educators and to be as helpful/respectful as much as possible with this family. Thank you for welcoming me!
Heather Dennie
Early Childhood Educator II
Heather joined Splash in May of 2022. She has been in the field since 2010 and went to the Louis Riel Arts & Technology Centre in 2012 for the Early Childhood Program followed by Red River College in 2015 in the Early Childhood Education Program. I Officially became an Educator in 2017. Heather is passionate about learning with children, being able to teach them because they are our future & she believes that the experiences we plan for them should be memorable. She loves to explore new things, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and I am very passionate about sustainability and what I can do to make the world a better place.
Jashanpreet Kaur

I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2021. I completed my Early Childhood Education program at CDI College, Pointe Claire, Quebec in January 2022 and joined the Splash in May 2022. I enjoy working with the children because I can watch them grow and develop into confident learners. In my free time, I love to paint, read books and explore new places around me.
Jasmin Laroco

My name is Jasmin Laroco and I have been in Splash since August 2022. I have been working in the child care industry as a Child Care Assistant for over 1 year and I will be attending Robertson College to take the ECE Program in December. I love working with children because they encourage you to use your imagination and find new creative ways to do things. I enjoy being outside and doing activities such as camping, hiking, beach days and on cold winter nights I enjoy escape rooms and game nights with my friends and family.
Julia Nguyen

Julia joined Splash in June 2022. She has been a child care assistant since 2021. She strongly believes in building strong connections with children and families and is passionate about getting the children outside in nature. Julia is looking forward to starting her studies in Education in 2024 and she enjoys movies, music, and crafts during her free time.
Kaitlin Faith

My name is Kaitlin Faith, but you can call me Kaity! I have a always loved working with children and youth, and am a graduate from the University of Winnipeg’s PACE Educational Assistant program. I am planning on pursuing my ECE in the coming years. I have experience with inclusion and connecting with various support systems. I am Cree and Ukrainian, and am passionate about advocacy, the environment/sustainability and my community. In my free time I enjoy creative writing, volunteering, going to my parents farm, my cabin on Lake Winnipeg and spending time with my fur baby, nieces and nephews!
Kendra McGlynn

I’m Kendra, I joined Splash in 2022. I currently work in the kitchen at Splash Early Learning Centre preparing snacks each day for the kids. Prior to Splash I worked at a different daycare where I was a Child Care Assistant. My favourite thing about working in childcare is watching kids when they learn something new or they have mastered something that they were working on for a long time, the wonder and excitement in their eyes is just amazing. Outside of work my hobbies are baking, reading and writing.
Mary Ann Singh
Child Care Assistant
Hi! I’m Mary Ann one of the CCA’s at Splash Early Learning Centre, I just recently joined the Splash team in Sept 2022 and I am a Registered Nurse in my country which is the Philippines and I also took a caregiving course which included providing care and support for children. This is my first child care position. I’m so happy that Splash has given me a chance to work in a child care setting and being here has been great experience and also a challenging role for me. I am learning a lot and I really enjoy being with the kids. Playing with the children, you get to see their development and help them to explore their talents, as well as being a part of their messy, amazing learning process.
Matthew Bohna

Matthew is a Child Care Assistant (CCA). He is a very chill/relaxed individual. He tries not to rush things, he takes his time. Matthew enjoys being outside in the fresh air and he likes going out for walks. On his free time, he likes playing video games and composing his own music.
Milexa Morales

Milexa is an Early Childhood Educator II, who has been in the field since 1996. She loves building relationships with the children and families of the centre. Creating teachable moments, adventuring outdoors and creating memories. In her spare time she loves travelling to new places, spending time with her family and on cool summer nights watching movies in her backyard.
Michelle Fields
Early Childhood Educator II
Michelle has been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2016, and as of 2020 has been a student in Red River College’s ECE II Workplace Program. She will graduate as an ECE II in June, 2022. Michelle has laid her roots down in infant/toddler care, and is strongly guided through her work by the principles of the RIE and Pikler, (neuroscience/attachment based) approaches. Michelle has attended formal Pikler intensives in Los Angeles California and looks forward to pursuing these studies, as well as a Forest School Practitioner title following her graduation. When not working or fulfilling school responsibilities, Michelle enjoys adventuring outdoors – whatever the weather – with her son whom she welcomed in 2019.
Miyeon In

Miyeon In has graduated from a university in Korea, was an ECE II teacher for 8 years for children aged 3-4 years old, and a supervisor. She came to Winnipeg because she liked Winnipeg’s winter and snow, and it’s been two years since she came. When she has free time, she likes to travel around Manitoba with her friends and her hobby is to take pictures in the beautiful city of Winnipeg and to play the piano with children’s singing and dancing.

Rosel San Miguel

Rosel has been in child care field since 2016 and graduated from the Early Childhood Education Full-Time Program at Red River College in 2018. She cherishes building valuable relationships with children, families, and the community, and using the environment to spark children’s sense of wonder and creativity. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places, crafting and building, escape rooms, and spending time with family and friends.

Sumanpreet Kaur

I joined Splash in December of 2022. I know three languages: English, Punjabi and Hindi. Working with children is a great opportunity to do something good. The thing that I enjoy the most working with children is to teach them something new which is good for them and to see the enjoyment and excitement in their eyes when they understand something or while doing different things. Moreover, listening to them while they play shows how their imagination works and it makes me smile. In my free time I like to listen to music and read books
Taylor Chartier

Taylor has been in childcare since 2017. She loves working in childcare because she loves the curiosity and creativity children bring into your life. She is hoping to get her ECE degree eventually and continue to learn and work in the field!
