Aileen Roldan

Early Childhood Educator II in Training 

Aileen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and is a licensed teacher in the Philippines. Her early career included over six years as an Early Childhood Educator in Singapore before she immigrated to Canada. In Canada, she initially worked as a Quality Analyst for more than three years, while simultaneously earning a Diploma in Office Assistant from CDI College with honors. Her career then shifted to academia, where she served as a teaching assistant and later a college instructor for over three years. After maternity leave, Aileen returned to her passion, now working as an Early Childhood Educator II in training.

Aileen expresses deep enjoyment in working with young children, admiring their “innocent way of how they look at our world.” She finds it incredibly fulfilling to “light the children’s flame of curiosity,” believing that educators play a “most crucial role” as “first teachers.” She is a strong advocate for providing children with a robust foundation during their formative years for future success, a mission she actively embraces. Aileen also highlights the long-term impact of early care, stating it “will help shape how they treat others for the rest of their lives,” and recognizes the importance of collaboration with families.

Amy Jia

Early Childhood Educator II 

Amy (Qiong Jia) recently completed the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program at MITT. Before her enrollment, she gained five years of experience in China, where she provided support to infants and toddlers in the areas of breastfeeding and sleep. Ms. Jia is enthusiastic about joining Splash and applying her expertise.

Her professional philosophy centers on putting children first, emphasizing a child-centered approach. She is committed to implementing age-appropriate activities and tailoring curriculum to align with children’s specific needs and interests. While upholding health and safety standards, she strives to foster holistic development in all children under her care. Outside of her professional pursuits, Ms. Jia enjoys spending time with her family and cat, particularly relaxing outdoors in her backyard.

Annie Nguyen

Early Childhood Educator II 

Annie graduated from RRC (Red River College Polytechnic) with an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma. She has been working with children for over four years.

While living in Vietnam, Annie loved to spend her free time with her friends visiting orphanages to help and spend time with the children. She organized concerts, brought presents to encourage them, and created games for the children during the summer and for special events.

From all of these experiences, Annie strongly believes that all children are valued. She respects, loves, and supports children for who they are, regardless of their background, abilities, or experiences.

Ari Ross 

Child Care Assistant

Ari is a recent addition to the Splash Team. Before joining Splash, she served as a Child Care Assistant at another center for over four years. She finds immense satisfaction in witnessing children reach their developmental milestones and cherishes the opportunity to create fond memories with them each day.

Arshdeep Kaur 

Child Care Assistant

Arshdeep completed her Early Childhood Education diploma in February 2022 and is continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth in the field. She gained over two years of experience as an ECE III in Saskatchewan. To stay current with best practices, Arshdeep has successfully completed various professional development, microcredential, and play and exploration assessments. She holds a strong belief in children’s inherent capabilities and competence. Arshdeep actively engages in play-based learning with young children, valuing the insights gained into their creative thinking and imagination. She is highly enthusiastic about the experiences offered within Manitoba’s Early Learning Program.

Arshpreet Kaur

Child Care Assistant

Arsh officially joined the Splash team in September 2024. She brings two years of valuable experience working with infants, preschoolers, and school-aged children. Currently, Arsh is dedicated to working with preschool-aged children, a role she finds immensely fulfilling. She appreciates that every day in childcare is unique and exciting, and she is consistently inspired and motivated by the children in her care to be her best self. Outside of her professional life, Arsh enjoys painting and listening to music, activities that fuel her creativity and bring her joy. She is eager to continue her growth with the Splash team and to further learn from and support the children.

Fatema Begum

Child Care Assistant

Fatema, originally from Bangladesh, relocated to Canada in July 2022. She is currently participating in the Elmwood Youth Employment Experience, a work placement program facilitated by the Elmwood Community Resource Centre.

In her leisure time, Fatema enjoys gardening, listening to music, and reading novels. She brings valuable experience in childcare, having previously volunteered with the Bangladesh Rehabilitation Assistance Committee (BRAC).

Fatema holds a Master of Business Administration and has completed a childcare course from the Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute (CMWI). Driven by her passion for working with children, she plans to further her education by enrolling in the Early Childhood Education program.

Diane Poblete

Early Childhood Educator II

Hi, I’m Diane! I’m an Early Childhood Educator II and I graduated from the ECE Program in April 2024 at Robertson College. I discovered my love for the field when I worked as a Summer Student at a Childcare Centre in 2022 and have enjoyed learning and working along side children ever since, and I hope to make more memories and laugh lots! Apart from the Childcare field, I love to sing, shop, and take pictures of everything, and I hope to travel more in the future.

Hazel Shalom

Early Childhood Educator II

Hazel was born in Israel and moved to Canada at a young age. She started her child care journey working as a CCA and went into ECE training at a Jewish preschool, working with children ages 2-6 for 4 years. She then received the Board of Governors gold medal when graduating from Red River College in 2022 from the Early Childhood Education program as an ECE II. After graduating, Hazel moved to New York to work with children of different ages and needs. Hazel takes pride in creating bonds with each individual child and discovering their interests to provide the best childcare she can. In her spare time, Hazel enjoys singing, listening to music, playing sports, spending time with her loved ones, and has an interest in sustainable fashion and film.

Ivee Todavchych

Child Care Assistant

Ivanna Todavchych is a dedicated psychotherapist and hypnotherapist with 10 years of professional experience, specializing in working with children. Her extensive international travels have enabled her to learn seven languages, fostering a unique ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ivanna views her work with children as crucial for understanding the root of various challenges, empowering her to help new generations build a bright and healthy future. An open and highly creative individual, she excels at crafting environments that are both engaging and conducive to children’s development, allowing them to have fun while discovering their inherent worth.

I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2021. I completed my Early Childhood Education program at CDI College, Pointe Claire, Quebec in January 2022 and joined the Splash in May 2022. I enjoy working with the children because I can watch them grow and develop into confident learners. In my free time, I love to paint, read books and explore new places around me.

Marta Suarez

Child Care Assistant

Marta joined the Splash team in February of 2025. She previously worked as a Child Care Assistant at another center. Marta enjoys creating memories and spending time outdoors in the summer, with a particular fondness for nature walks.

Mary Ann Singh

Child Care Assistant

Hi! I’m Mary Ann one of the CCA’s at Splash Early Learning Centre, I just recently joined the Splash team in Sept 2022 and I am a Registered Nurse in my country which is the Philippines and I also took a caregiving course which included providing care and support for children. This is my first child care position. I’m so happy that Splash has given me a chance to work in a child care setting and being here has been great experience and also a challenging role for me. I am learning a lot and I really enjoy being with the kids. Playing with the children, you get to see their development and help them to explore their talents, as well as being a part of their messy, amazing learning process.

Matthew Bohna

Child Care Assistant

Matthew is a Child Care Assistant (CCA). He is a very chill/relaxed individual. He tries not to rush things, he takes his time. Matthew enjoys being outside in the fresh air and he likes going out for walks. On his free time, he likes playing video games and composing his own music.

Michelle Fields

Michelle has been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2016, and as of 2020 has been a student in Red River College’s ECE II Workplace Program. She will graduate as an ECE II in June, 2022. Michelle has laid her roots down in infant/toddler care, and is strongly guided through her work by the principles of the RIE and Pikler, (neuroscience/attachment based) approaches. Michelle has attended formal Pikler intensives in Los Angeles California and looks forward to pursuing these studies, as well as a Forest School Practitioner title following her graduation. When not working or fulfilling school responsibilities, Michelle enjoys adventuring outdoors – whatever the weather – with her son whom she welcomed in 2019.

Miyeon In

Early Childhood Educator II

Miyeon In has graduated from a university in Korea, was an ECE II teacher for 8 years for children aged 3-4 years old, and a supervisor. She came to Winnipeg because she liked Winnipeg’s winter and snow, and it’s been two years since she came. When she has free time, she likes to travel around Manitoba with her friends and her hobby is to take pictures in the beautiful city of Winnipeg and to play the piano with children’s singing and dancing.

Nafisa Al Lilo

Nafisa joined Splash in June 2025 and has been working as a CCA for about two years. She truly enjoys supporting children in a fun, caring, and positive environment. She is currently a student at the University of Manitoba, working toward her goal of becoming a lawyer. In her spare time, she loves reading, going on hikes, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Nathan Santos Diaz

Nathan transitioned into the field of Early Childhood Education in July 2024. Prior to this, he graduated from the Applied Accounting program at Red River College and the Culinary Arts program at R.B. Russell Vocational High School. He was also pursuing an Education degree at the University of Winnipeg when an opportunity arose to work with young children, which solidified his appreciation for the foundational impact of early learning. His teaching philosophy, “To learn with the child,” centers on fostering a strong, nurturing connection with children to discern their unique learning styles and tendencies. This approach allows him to tailor the most effective learning methods and environments for every individual.

Pawanpreet Kaur

Hello! My name is Pawanpreet Kaur. I moved to Canada in April 2023 as an international student and recently graduated in August 2024 from Red River College in Winnipeg. After completing my studies, I’ve decided to pursue a career as Childcare Assistant,  as I’m passionate about working with young children and fostering their development. In my free time, I enjoy learning new things, especially activities that involve creativity, lpainting, drawing, and reading.

I believes that every child has limitless potential, and with the right care and guidance, they can grow into confident and compassionate individuals.

Saradha Nagappan

Child Care Assistant

Saradha Nagappan has been a dedicated professional in the child care field since 2019 and is currently completing her training as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE). She first arrived in Winnipeg in 2019, relocating from India.

Her professional focus lies in working with infants. Saradha is motivated by the opportunity to support the earliest stages of development, and she approaches her work with the belief that a child’s natural curiosity, innocence, and smiles are a constant source of inspiration. She is committed to providing patient, loving, and careful support to ensure each infant thrives.

In her personal time, Saradha enjoys long drives, discovering new places, and watching films, activities that help her relax and maintain a creative, energetic approach to her duties.

Shaira Luna

Child Care Assistant

Shaira began her career in childcare in June 2023, joining Splash in late August of the same year. She genuinely enjoys her time with children, appreciating the valuable lessons she learns from them daily. Witnessing and contributing to their growth journey provides profound fulfillment in her profession. Outside of work, Shaira’s interests include reading, spending quality time with family and friends, and participating in various outdoor activities and sports. Her professional aspirations include obtaining her Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level II certification in the coming years.

Sumanpreet Kaur

Child Care Assistant

I joined Splash in December of 2022. I know three languages: English, Punjabi and Hindi. Working with children is a great opportunity to do something good. The thing that I enjoy the most working with children is to teach them something new which is good for them and to see the enjoyment and excitement in their eyes when they understand something or while doing different things. Moreover, listening to them while they play shows how their imagination works and it makes me smile. In my free time I like to listen to music and read books

Sumaiya Rahman

Child Care Assistant

Hi, I am Sumaiya Rahman. I came to Canada on the 21st of November in 2023. I am currently here on a work permit and have completed my Bachelors of Business Administration during my time at Stamford University in Bangladesh. While I was in Bangladesh I worked in the childcare field at SOS Children’s Home. I prioritize building strong relationships and creating a supportive environment for children. For this reason I prefer to be in the field of childcare. I like to paint, travel, make friends, cook, and watch movies!

Tasha Yim

Child Care Assistant

Tasha Yim studied Early Childhood Education at MITT and is planning to switch into the Educational Assistant program in the upcoming winter semester. She has realized how much she loves working with children and watching them learn and grow. Having four younger brothers has given her lots of hands-on experience caring for and supporting kids. Outside of work and school, she enjoys spending time with her friends, baking, binge-watching her favorite TV shows and movies, and hanging out with her girlfriend.

With over two years of experience in childcare, she brings a passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a positive learning environment. She loves incorporating outdoor activities and music into her work, believing that play experiences and creativity are essential for children’s development. She is excited to contribute her passion and energy to Splash!
